I had been playing around with the idea of buying maybe $20 worth of lotto tickets for the Powerball that was estimated at $500 million dollars. I jokingly told my husband all the things we could do with the money. I said people like me don’t win money like that because of what I would do with it. It was a pretty amusing conversation to say the least. Somewhere in the conversation I realized something; I have everything I need. God has provided me with a husband, children, a job, food, water, a home and so much more . What more could I ask for? There are people who would give anything to have what you and I have. You think you have it bad, there is always someone else who has it worse.
We should be sowing seeds and reaping in our harvest. God is so much bigger than our finances, our struggles, and this world, after all he created it. Plus, money is the root of all sorts of evil.
I just want to challenge you to take a look at your life. What things in life have you taken for granted? Do you see the homeless man on the corner begging for money and food? Look at the needs of others in your life, and not just in your inner circle, branch out an be the hands and feet of Jesus. Who says you can only help people you know? Your kindness could change someones life, show someone the love of Jesus. Be the change you want to see!
I would like to give prayer:
I ask that we would be a people who appreciate all of the things you have blessed us with, not just physically but spiritually as well. I ask that you would help us to be humble and not to live beyond our means. I pray for the people who are financially struggling and my family as well. I thank you so much for continuing to meet our needs. You are the great provider. I can not thank you enough. I pray as well for a movement in your kingdom, that hearts would be turned to you and that your church would pour out your love across the world. Open our eyes and hearts and let us be a people that respond to your call. I pray for the homeless, that their needs would be met, that they would find a place where they are loved and belong. I thank you for your goodness and your grace. In Jesus name,Amen.
