Freedom In Him

Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:2-3

In life we go through seasons. Seasons of blessings, seasons of struggle, seasons of great joy and of growth. No matter what season of life you are in just remember God is always there. My present season in life is a season of struggle. I have been overcome with anxiety, stress, sadness, fear, and uncertainty. I am human, thus I have human emotions. As a believer it has been a struggle to put all of this in God’s hands. I have had to look to His word for comfort and peace. So to you readers, if you are struggling with anything in your life just know that you are not alone. This fight is not one you must fight alone.

I have always been the type of person who takes on the burdens of others. I grieve for others and sometimes the actions of others affect me so much it’s like I am guilty of their sin. It has been a struggle over the past few years to recognize that my part is to intercede for those people and that the debt has already been paid. It has been a struggle for control. I’ve always been a “fixer”, if there is a problem then I automatically think I should find a solution. I see now that its not my job to fix everything. Jesus didn’t come so I would be worried and stressed, He came so I could have peace and abundant life.

This walk with Christ is not easy.So often we are caught up in recognizing the flaws of others we are unable to recognize our own flaws. We are all imperfect people, only one man ever entered this earth that was perfect and blameless and that my friends was Jesus Himself. We must not judge people by what they have done. I myself have been caught up in feeling self righteous and judging others. I try to understand why people do the things they do without fear of consequence.Ultimately sin is sin and I am guilty of sin as well.
As Christians we are to see others through the eyes of Jesus. We are commanded as followers of Jesus to go out and spread the gospel and to love like Jesus did. Jesus surrounded Himself with an unlikely group of people, a “motley crew” of sorts. He dined with sinners, murderers, thieves, prostitutes, adulterers and more, who accepted Him and repented of their sins. We are not above any of the aforementioned. And regardless of what you think, no one is beyond salvation.

A recent sermon from the church I attend really opened my eyes. Heaven and Hell are real places and it’s up to you to decide where you want to spend your eternity. We all have sin that we struggle with and if we don’t let God take reign in our life we cannot change. As a human we can only do so much, we must surrender everything to Him.

Take a step back and examine your life. Is there emptiness somewhere? Do you long for a love like no other? A love that is unchanging, unconditional, unending. Do you know where you will spend your eternity? The love I speak of is real. Finding this love is the first step to a changed life. The bible is filled with stories of Gods unending love, stories of His faithfulness, His mercies, His strength.

Do you know Jesus?

God loved us so much that He sent His ONLY son as a sacrifice, payment for the debt of sin. His son Jesus endured unimaginable pain and suffering for You. Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that no man comes to the father (God) except through me. All that He is asking is for you to believe in Him, to accept what He gave for you. but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8   For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10

Surrender your life to the Lord. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. Don’t continue to live for the world, live for something bigger, Someone greater!

My Prayer: Lord, I ask that those who seek You would find you. I ask that your voice would be heard loud and clear by those who are lost. Lord, I pray for breakthrough in the lives of those struggling with sin. Lord, I pray for a movement in the church, that your people would rise up and let their voices be heard as they proclaim that you are Lord. I pray for conviction in the hearts of those who have not repented. I pray for peace and an outpouring of your love. I pray for restoration in marriages, I pray that your people would value  the covenant of marriage just as You do. Lord I pray that your bride would be ready when You come. I pray for peace in my own heart and that you would give me the understanding that only you can give. Heal me of my brokenness and set me free! Father I thank you for everything that you have done and have yet to do. Thank you for your love and mercy. Please speak to the hearts of those who do not know you. Bring revival in your church. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

27 “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful. John 14:27

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
