Blind Idolatry

Another entry by John:

I celebrate Jesus as my Passover lamb, my Savior, The Messiah who came and gave me relationship with the Father after it had been broken, the one who commanded us to go into the World sharing His life and establishing the Church. The World would have me believe that the two days of the year the world Celebrates him collectively-Easter and Christmas-Are actually about a super fertile bunny and a fat man that magically fits in everyone’s chimneys, eats their cookies, and gives them everything they want. The world says the Easter bunny laid a multitude of eggs in everyone’s yards. Go find them all????? This is so ironic when you actually think about it, because the religious leaders regarded Jesus’ teachings, life, and love as nothing but fake, a fable, or a lie and pleaded for his death.

Websters dictionary defines an idol as : a greatly loved or admired person, a picture or object that is worshiped as a god.  The Lord is a jealous God, He commands that there be no other God before Him. We accredit gifts and blessings to Santa Claus; teaching our children at a young age to worship Santa and expect things from him. But who are we leaving out? Jesus! Jesus is the reason for the season, not to sound too corny. We have created a false god and as a country thrown billions of dollars into a Santa Claus driven Christmas. Have we forgotten who we serve?

Jesus said no man comes to The Father but by Me. (John 14:6)The religious leaders said the only relationship with God is through the Law, and Jesus’ message was against it. Jesus said during the Passover as he broke the bread, “This is My body that will be broken for you, eat in remembrance of Me”.As He took the cup, He said, “This is My Blood that will be poured out for you, drink in remembrance of me.” (1Corinthians 11) Jesus was then betrayed, mocked as a false King, tried before Pilate, selected to be executed in place of a murderer, beaten, and executed. But Praise God, my King couldn’t be killed. Death had no sting, and the grave couldn’t hold Him. My Savior lives-yesterday, today, and forever. The world says Christmas is about receiving any materialistic gift we’ve wanted from a person named Santa Claus????? Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” I celebrate His birth, Christmas, because of the hope He gave me by simply being born, fulfilling the Law and establishing a new covenant. This new covenant was His life, The Gospel. Through this Gospel-Jesus’ life, we obtain Salvation by His grace through being faithful, believing in Him. We are then sent out, Commissioned-Matthew 28:19-20, to proclaim this Love to ALL. To celebrate as the World does, we do the same thing to Jesus the religious leaders did. We exchange honoring Him by denying Him. We follow what we’ve been taught as children. There is fun in hunting for eggs and receiving gifts, but our children should be taught that it is our duty, our utmost priority to Give God all Glory and honor.  But the fact of the matter is we are allowing someone to take the place of our Savior, we are accrediting someone else with the gifts that come from the Lord and are encouraging  a pattern of lies. While celebrating these Holy days, be sure to instill in your children the real reason these days are  considered holidays. My life is dedicated to Him, Jesus Christ. The King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. God, your perfect love is my hope, and my life. I will follow you. Move me out of the way, and use me. Speak through me, I will be your hands and feet. I love you.

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. 1 John 5:21

Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their hope of steadfast love Jonah 2:8

All who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame. Who fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing? Behold, all his companions shall be put to shame, and the craftsmen are only human. Let them all assemble, let them stand forth. They shall be terrified; they shall be put to shame together. The iron smith takes a cutting tool and works it over the coals. He fashions it with hammers and works it with his strong arm. He becomes hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water and is faint. The carpenter stretches a line; he marks it out with a pencil. He shapes it with planes and marks it with a compass. He shapes it into the figure of a man, with the beauty of a man, to dwell in a house Isaiah 44:9-20

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 1Corinthians 10:14

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths, but do not speak; they have eyes, but do not see; they have ears, but do not hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths. Those who make them become like them, so do all who trust in them!  Psalm 135:15-18

Breaking the Cycle

I am proud to present another post by my husband, I hope you enjoy.

I remember watching Dale Hansen on the news everyday when I was young. He hit the nail on the head when he said there is no logic behind the reasoning that his father thought that one family was good and an exception, but all others were bad completely based on the color of their skin. Also, Dale only ever knew to call them what he was TAUGHT, a derogatory name instead of their given ones.
What kind of society neglects to respect a person enough to at least say their name. Children, and everyone else for that matter, do not have to be taught to sin. They just do, as part of the learning process. Little lies and disobedience mostly, to which they should be disciplined accordingly by their parents. But who intentionally teaches their kids to lie or be rebellious? No one, but they do it. We all do- Romans 3:23-“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Parents are to teach and instill values into a child that they will carry into adulthood, not to hurt and scar them by teaching them by example to be evil. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way that he should go: and when he is old, he shall not depart from it.” How are you training your child? What is the example you set everyday? How intentional are you when it comes to those hard, tough talks and life lessons children must be taught? Do they see violence, hear explicit or derogatory language, or see a broken/lost/depressed mother or father who doesn’t choose or know to cast their cares upon the Lord, 1 Peter 5:7. As Christians, Jesus taught us there were two commandments that were considered greatest while being interrogated by the pharisees- “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Are you teaching them by example to Love God first, Then love your neighbor-not just a little, but with the same amount of love and respect you give yourself. To break this cycle of racism for good would be, not only to realize that calling someone a derogatory name or being disrespectful or hateful says everything about how view yourself, which your children will also see and do, but to intentionally train your child to consider others before himself. That’s called Humilty, and so often today, Pride replaces it. Leadership is best received when taught through servanthood or humility. Christian or not, black, white, or somewhere in between-There is no difference other than what we were taught, how we live, and how we teach. The color of skin or dialect is irrelevant, we are ALL INDIVIDUALLY UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT. But I believe we are all also the SAME, AND UNITED. You see, we all have different color skin, speech, beliefs and so on that make us individually unique and different. On the other hand, as a Christian, I believe this body is only temporary, and those who believe in God will shed this body for a heavenly one- 2 Corinthians 5:1-“For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.” We are vessels sent here for a unique, specific purpose, which is ultimately to honor God by finding that calling and bearing fruit. Christian or not, racism should not be present in your morals or values. It’s not okay, cute, cool or acceptable. Whether the Holy Spirit or your conscience leads you, racism is wrong, PERIOD. There is no difference, PERIOD. Love is what unites us. Hate divides us. It’s nothing new. This life is about Love. My mission is to share Jesus’ love with everyone I come in contact with by looking to Him-Hebrews 12:1-4, and bearing His fruit. I will leave you with these words, my favorite verses.

JOHN 15:1-17

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much James 5:14-16 NKJV

I just want to share some amazing things that have happened the past few days. God has really shown me His power. There have been some awesome things done in the name of Jesus.

Last week a good friend of mine’s son suddenly became ill. He was taken to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with a heart defect. The diagnosis was completely unexpected and my friend and her family were devastated from the test results. My friend sent out the call for prayer warriors, people to pray for her son’s complete healing and restoration of the chambers of his heart. Her son was then referred to a pediatric cardiologist which wouldn’t be able to squeeze him in for an appointment for several months. With alot of prayer and persistence she was able to move the appointment up to yesterday! At his visit there was more testing done and at the end of the appointment it was confirmed that there was NO HEART DEFECT. In Jesus’ name he was healed! An amazing  example of the healing power of God!

O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.Psalms 30:2 NKJV

Earlier this week my grandmother had a pretty bad car wreck which resulted in her vehicle being totaled. I received the call informing me of her accident and proceeded to call and inform my spouse. When I hung up the phone my son looks at me and says grandma is hurt we need to pray for her. With tears in my eyes I looked at him and said yes we do, we all need to pray for her. He then began to pray for her, followed by his little sister and myself. In that moment I just felt so blessed that the first thing to come to my little boys mind was to pray. My husband and I try hard to set an example for our children and to instill in them biblical principles. We have taught our children to pray for healing in Jesus’ name and to know that Jesus is capable of doing the impossible. My drive to the hospital was spent in tears, worshiping God for all that He does and interceding for my grandmas well being. Well I am happy to say that my grandma walked away from that wreck alive and intact, no broken bones! She has some soreness from the impact and some bruising from the airbags but no major injuries. God’s hand was definitely on her and He protected her!

Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,  Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,Psalms 103:1-4 NKJV

The past few days have really strengthened my faith and opened my eyes to the greatness of God. There is nothing out of His reach, nothing He can’t do. For those that believe in Jesus and have never experienced anything like I have described just know all you have to do is pray and ask. He is a God of love, mercy, and power! Put everything in His hands!

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise Jeremiah 17:14 NKJV

My prayer:

I thank you so much for all you have done and for all you continue to do. Your love and mercy are never ending. I thank you for the healing that has been done and the healing that is yet to come. I pray you continue to work in my family and in those who believe and that our faith would be strengthened daily. I pray that we would carry your word on the tablet of our hearts and we would cling to you Lord. I pray for blessings and provision on all who are in need. I pray for those without a home, those suffering from painful diseases, those who feel hopeless. I pray for a renewal of hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, ‘Because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.”Jeremiah 30:17 NKJV

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people Matthew 4:23 NKJV

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely Matthew 10:8 NKJV

And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick Matthew 14:14 NKJV

He Breathes Life

Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb. Genesis 30:22

Today it has really been on my heart to reach out to those who have endured the pain of barrenness or miscarriage. I learned this past week about a woman who has been through alot of pain, she has had multiple miscarriages. Today I just felt overwhelmed with compassion for her. The thing is I have never seen or met this woman but she was heavy on my heart today. I guess being someone who has felt the pain of a miscarriage its easier for me to empathize.

I guess my point is that God knows our pain, He sees our struggle, He knows the desires of our hearts. For those who are faced with problems conceiving just know that nothing is set in stone. God can turn any situation into something wonderful. I have personally seen people try for years and years to have a child and they stayed faithful to God, knowing that someday the desires of their hearts would be answered. They now have a beautiful baby girl!

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke 1:37

God is bigger than any diagnosis or ailment. He breathes life into the dead places. Put your trust in Him that you will have a family, ask Him to guide you and show you what His plan is for your life and your marriage. For some they see God’s plan for them is to adopt and that is a wonderful act of love, even Jesus himself turned the orphans into sons. Whatever you are dealing with just know that you are being prayed for, interceded for, you are loved and cared for and that God is a miraculous God and He can heal and restore.

By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:11

I just want to take some time to pray and give scripture.

Dear God,

You have put it on my heart to intercede for those faced with infertility and miscarriages. Lord you are almighty and you alone have the ability to heal the wombs of those who are barren, you are able to restore and make new every cell in our bodies. I ask Lord that you would answer the desires of those who wish to  multiply in the earth. Lord hear the cry of those begging for a chance to bring life into this world. Heal the hearts of those who are hurting, wipe the tears from their eyes and give them peace in knowing that you are God. Lord every good gift comes from you and I ask that you would pour out gifts on the brokenhearted. Give hope to those who feel hopeless. Work in the strained marriages and let both spouses know that you are their and in Your timing anything can happen. I thank you so much for the prayers you have already answered and for those you have already healed. I claim healing for these women in Jesus’ name. Amen.

“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessings will be on your food and water.  I will take sickness from among you and none will miscarry or be barren in your land.” Exodus 23:25-26

Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”Genesis 18:14

He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 113:9

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. The Lord bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life! May you see your children’s children! Peace be upon Israel! Psalm 128:3-6

Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived.Genesis 25:21

You shall be blessed above all peoples; there will be no male or female barren among you or among your cattle. Deuteronomy 7:14

There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had borne no children. Then the angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, “Behold now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and give birth to a son Judges 13:2-3

Open Up Our Eyes

I know you have all heard the saying, “You catch more flies with honey.” I feel like this is a very true statement. Someone very close to me recently had their feelings hurt because of what someone said to them. As believers, as followers of Jesus, we are called to be a people of love, people who draw others to Jesus( the flies to honey). So this “friend” of mine was hurt because she was made to feel like the choices she has made this far were terrible and if she ever wanted to be “right” she needed to do things differently. She was made to feel low, dirty, and stupid. Sometimes we don’t realize the effect our words have on others. We can’t control how people react to our words, we can only make sure we are saying things out of love for them and love for Jesus, words said with malicious intent are not as undetectable as you might think. You can feel free to disagree with me on any of this, you are entitled too.

We are in no position to condemn or judge others for their choices. If we wish to draw people closer to Jesus we must start by learning what He said, not our opinion of what we think God says about certain things. Look at people through the eyes of Jesus, we see the sin, Jesus sees the heart. I think when we are in a situation where someone really needs to hear the truth, there is a way to go about it. I think you should tell them that Jesus is a loving God, He sees our pain, our struggle and He wants to work all the bad for good, He has hope and a future planned for us. We should let people know that Jesus wants a relationship with them and wants to do great works in their lives. I learn more and more each day that we live in a lost world and it is up to us torchbearers to light the way, to lead people out of darkness. Let His word be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path!

Jesus did not condemn the adulterous woman , he told her that he did not condemn her and for her to go and sin no more. He did not make her feel like scum, he did not call her names or make her feel dirty. He showed her love and compassion, something alot of us lack! We serve a loving and gracious God.

I myself have made my fair share of mistakes, but we learn from them. If I hadn’t made the mistakes I made I wouldn’t be where I am today and I wouldn’t have the relationship with Jesus that I have.

The word of God is powerful, like a double edged sword, it is what we should use to tell others what God says. Prayer is another way we can help others. Intercede on the behalf of others.Take some time to pray for those who don’t personally know Jesus, or those who have run from Him. Have you ever fasted? Set aside a time dedicated to fast for someone in your life you want to see breakthrough in. God is almighty, he can do anything and he hears our prayers. He can soften the hardest heart. Leave judgement to Him.

Prayer: My prayer for those who feel judged, who feel degraded, is that Jesus would speak to their hearts. I pray for breakthrough and healing. I pray that the chains that continue to hold people back would fall off in Jesus’ name! I pray that their would be an uprising, that people would cry out to Jesus, that His name would be lifted on high. I pray that those who have never heard about Jesus, would hear His voice and seek Him. I pray for the missionaries around the earth spreading the Word, being the light all over the globe. I ask for the Holy Spirit to pour out upon this land and for sinners to bow before the King! I thank the Lord for giving me a way to reach people, for allowing me to type this, I thank Him for life and for everything He has done in me. I thank Him for You too! In Jesus name, Amen.

Hebrews 12:1-3 12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart

John 8:3   3 The scribes and the Pharisees *brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court, 4 they *said to Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?” 6 They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. 7 But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. 10 Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” 11 She said, “No one, [a]Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.”

Psalm 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalm 119:105Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path

The Journey to Forgiveness

Forgiveness is something I’ve learned alot about the past few years. Its a hard thing to do.Sometimes it feels easier to just hold a grudge and go about your way. Sometimes we find comfort and seek approval for our feelings by telling others what another has done to us and  to try to justify harboring unforgiveness. If we call ourselves believers of Christ then we must learn to forgive, but its about so much more than forgiveness. Forgiving someone is not just you letting them “off the hook” but allowing yourself to heal and move forward in life.

Forgiveness = Freedom

In my short life I have had to forgive many people, especially people I love dearly. To tell you the truth, forgiving those people has helped me so much. When we ask Jesus for forgiveness our sin is taken away, the load is lifted, He carries our burden. When you forgive others the weight of your grudge, the hate you have held in your heart, any impure feelings you have carried with you are lifted away.

Growing up I battled with alot of different things. I can honestly say I had abandonment issues, insecurity, depression, anxiety, uncertainty in regards to what  my future held. I was emotionally abused.I witnessed things that no teenager should have to see.  I looked for love in the wrong places, I thought if I could just make this person love me I would be whole and everything would be peachy. I didn’t understand why I was always someones last choice. I made choices based on my flesh. I looked for acceptance and hope in places where they could not be found. I was always unsatisfied with life, unhappy with any situation, always confused. I never felt complete and I felt like I was always the problem and I never did anything right. Dealing with all these feelings left me open and susceptible  to sin. Through all of this, He was there, He kept me safe and I am so grateful for that. My life could have been alot different but somebody was praying for me! All of these feelings I had were stemmed from other problems, things out of my control, situations I was put in. I thank God that when a life changing situation entailed, I sought Him and I found Him!  Isaiah 55:6 Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. That day in 2013 I never expected to feel everything that I felt. I never thought I would have to go through what I went through, everything felt so unreal. I think it was the first time in my life where I cried out to God and begged Him for help and strength. I truly trusted in Him for probably the first REAL time in my life. This was a crucial  part of my Journey To Forgiveness. My life has been changed, and I don’t regret a thing that has happened. It was God’s plan to bring change, renewal and restoration into my life. It was His plan to WAKE me and my husband up from our slumber, for Him to make these dry bones LIVE!

Fortunately I have forgiven the people in my life for the things I went through. I feel at peace. I feel love. I feel safe and secure. I know my worth and I know God forgives so I should too.

I posted this in hopes that someone would be moved by it. I just want you to know that my journey has been hard but forgiving others has helped me tremendously. We have all been saved by the wonderful grace of Jesus, by his sacrifice. Even on the cross he cried out for those crucifying Him to be forgiven for what they were doing to Him. We are not above Jesus. If he can forgive those who tortured Him, beat Him, hung Him on a cross and mocked Him while He died, why can’t you forgive?

That family member that your are still upset with from something that happened years ago, forgive them, let it go, not for them but for your own sake. Your boss at work that speaks to you in a way that makes you feel subhuman, pray for them and forgive them. Sometimes we just don’t understand the power of our words, both what we say and what others say to us. You want to be like Jesus, look past what others have done, love the person inside, forgive.

The Lord is forgiving, His love is never-ending, never changing, never failing.

My prayer for you is that you would look deep in your heart. Find out where your are harboring unforgiveness. That you would give up your pride and forgive those who have hurt you. I pray that you would also forgive yourself for what Jesus has already washed away. I pray that you would be strengthened. I pray that your heart would be opened up to Jesus and you would hear His voice clearly. I pray that you would be encouraged daily and that you would look to His word for truth. I thank Jesus that you are alive and reading this. I pray that your life would be changed. I ask God for your protection and for Him to continue to guide you in all that you do. In Jesus name. Amen.

Isaiah 55:6-7 “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon

Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will forgive you as well.
15 But if you don’t forgive people, your Father will not forgive your wrongdoing.

Matthew 18: 21-22 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? “Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Matthew 5:23-24 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

Luke 23:33-34 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

Luke 17:3-4 So watch yourselves. “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says , ‘I repent,’ forgive him.”

Counting My Blessings

I had been playing around with the idea of buying maybe $20 worth of lotto tickets for the Powerball that was estimated at $500 million dollars. I jokingly told my husband all the things we could do with the money. I said people like me don’t win money like that because of what I would do with it. It was a pretty amusing conversation to say the least. Somewhere in the conversation I realized something; I have everything I need. God has provided me with a husband, children, a job, food, water, a home and so much more . What more could I ask for? There are people who would give anything to have what you and I have. You think you have it bad, there is always someone else who has it worse.

We should be sowing seeds and reaping in our harvest. God is so much bigger than our finances, our struggles, and this world, after all he created it. Plus, money is the root of all sorts of evil.

I just want to challenge you to take a look at your life. What things in life have you taken for granted? Do you see the homeless man on the corner begging for money and food? Look at the needs of others in your life, and not just in your inner circle, branch out an be the hands and feet of Jesus. Who says you can only help people you know? Your kindness could change someones life, show someone the love of Jesus. Be the change you want to see!

I would like to give prayer:

Dear God,

I ask that we would be a people who appreciate all of the things you have blessed us with, not just physically but spiritually as well. I ask that you would help us to be humble and not to live beyond our means. I pray for the people who are financially struggling and my family as well. I thank you so much for continuing to meet our needs. You are the great provider. I can not thank you enough. I pray as well for a movement in your kingdom, that hearts would be turned to you and that your church would pour out your love across the world. Open our eyes and hearts and let us be a people that respond to your call. I pray for the homeless, that their needs would be met, that they would find a place where they are loved and belong. I thank you for your goodness and your grace. In Jesus name,Amen.

Philippians 4:19 ESV And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:26 ESV  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Hebrews 13:5 ESV Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Proverbs 3:5 ESV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

2 Corinthians 9:8-11 ESV And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

The Church Today: A Jump Into His Will

I am pleased to share with you a post written by my husband! He is very anointed and I hope you enjoy.

It really bothers me that so many people feel inspired by eloquent speech and feel good, watered down, or altered renditions of the Gospel. Why don’t we see men like Paul Washer anywhere on TV? Because people don’t like “Church” unless there is some incentive to gain or use it as an added accessory to their life’s wardrobe- (I go because it makes me feel good-I go because my friends do-I go because I want to be a better person). Feeling good, fitting in, and being a good person will not bring you any closer to God than you were before. You see, there’s something that happens when we experience Christ’s love- When we truly and humbly allow God to invade our hearts, transform our minds, and walk beside us at all times. I’ve heard it referred to as a violent collision that once impact is made, you are never the same as you were before. Think about it. Lets bring this into 2015 perspective. The log truck scene from Final Destination-(Just hear me out). An accident in which most wouldn’t survive, lets imagine you did. The log comes through the windshield and hits you, but you are alive, barely clinging to life. After intensive and extensive surgery you have fully recovered, with the exception of some sightly scars and a permanent limp. You are alive, But physically you are not the same, and you never will be. This is the same impact Christ has in our lives, with the exception of the scars and limp. He sees through our imperfections, even heals many of them and continues to relentlessly pursue us, yet we run to what makes us feel good not fully understanding He’s paid the price already. Some dwell on the past, reliving life before the accident and constantly wonder how to live with the scars and the limp. The answer would be to press on towards Christ, not looking at the past or your present surroundings, and allowing Him to propel you forward into uncharted territory through unwavering faithfulness. Through this, the past and all it’s imperfections are overwhelmed by what God has for us, and become only memories. Church should be a unified body of believers in Jesus Christ, with a uniform mandate to experience and share His amazing Love at any time, any place, and any cost. This should be what moves us from the past and present and propels us forward. Instead of concerning yourself with prosperity and a better life, what are you allowing God to do in your life right now? Do you have walls up? Surrender and give Him everything! Sounds cliche, but it’s really that simple…to say, Actually doing it is hard sometimes! What is your calling, and His vision for your life? One of the best quotes I’ve ever heard- ( I am not called to merely walk over a bridge over troubled waters, but to jump headfirst into the torrent). This is my sincere prayer heading into 2015 and beyond.

God, No resolution-just an insatiable desire to be closer to Jesus and what he’s all about. To give all of myself, and jump headfirst into your plan for my life. I stand on Matthew 6:33! God I will seek you and your righteousness, relentlessly. Move me and my junk out of the way and live in me and through me. Speak through me. God, I will go where you will send me. I seek nothing but to know you more than I ever have before. Teach me how to Love like you do. Give me the words to say when I have none. God, help me. Forgive me for falling short and missing the mark, endlessly! I love you, and will never stop. Thank you so much God. I dont deserve you, but I have you, and I always will. So be it, Amen

I challenge you to jump….
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJV
Matthew 28:19-20 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen
Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Hurt and the Healer Collide

freedomPsalms 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD.

I just want to use this post today to give prayer. I know a lot of people who are hurting, whether it be physically, financially, emotionally, etc. The pain is real but there is a healer and a deliverer.

I intercede today for those who are hurting, those who feel guilty, those who have yet to be delivered from the chains that are holding them back. Lord I say in Jesus name that those chains would begin to fall off and freedom is declared in your name! Lord you know who I pray for that is hurting emotionally, I pray that your comforting hand would heal and restore. Lord I pray for breakthrough and repentance in this persons life. Lord we know you have us go through things in order to bring us out better and stronger. I just pray for a renewal, a refreshing of faith.

Lord all our hope is in you. I pray you would provide for those who are suffering financially, you have always come through. I pray for those who are depressed, Let your light shine into those dark places and lead the way out. There is not a heart you can’t heal, a relationship you can’t restore, a mountain you can’t move. Your word is filled with promises of your power and stories of You bringing your people out of trials. Lord you are the ultimate healer, the great physician, I ask that you would begin to heal hearts, minds and souls all over the world. I pray that you would draw your children closer and closer to you and when they have found you they would be strengthened and they would rise up declaring your name across the world. Lord you cover this earth with your holy spirit, I pray that you would be exalted on high, exalted in the earth.

Lord, bring revival, a spiritual revival and renewal, a refreshing!!!!

Lord, I give you thanks for everything you do for all of us. The breath in our lungs is yours, you are the giver of life. Thank you for another day of life. Another day to speak your praises into the air. Thank you,Lord.

Psalms 107:20 NKJV He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Psalms 147:3 NKJV He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Psalm 113:3-9

3From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the Lord is to be praised!

The Lord is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens!
Who is like the Lord our God,
    who is seated on high,
who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

Jeremiah 17:14 NKJV Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise

Deuteronomy 31:8 “… It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Peace Be With You

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

I have this verse posted up so I can read it every morning. This verse is so true, when you are having a bad day, when you are worried, when you are just plain exhausted with life’s situations. Life gets hard, at times unbearable, but we serve a living God who can make a way no matter the circumstance. Bring it to God, He is always listening and He will put your heart and mind at ease.

I just want to give prayer today for those who need it.

I see people all around me who are broken, people who are hurting, people who are fighting for their lives, their marriages, broken relationships, restoration, and begging for healing and understanding. Lord you are the maker of all things and you have promised us so much. Hear the cry of the broken hearted, those that are longing for peace in their hearts, those begging to be free. You gave us much power in your name Jesus, strengthen us, break off chains that hold us back. Lord I just pray peace over those who need it.

I pray for a particular family that is fighting to keep their marriage together, I pray for eyes to be opened, I pray for unity in the family , in the marriage, I pray for conviction of sin and for hearts to be turned to you. I pray for strength to fight, strength to say to the enemy YOU CAN NOT HAVE OUR MARRIAGE IN JESUS NAME! Lord I just ask that you intercede for this family.

Lord I pray for someone who has started on a new adventure in life. Let him know that your are God. Let him proclaim Your name to the nations. Help him to stand strong and firm on your word, let him hold on to you Lord in all circumstances. I know you have a plan for his life and I pray that you would guide his steps and strengthen his faith.

Lord I pray for a family member who is struggling with being alone. Fighting just to make it another day and to make a way for herself and her child. Lord I pray healing from the pain that is kept within her heart. Lord I ask that you cover her with the peace only you can bring, and I ask that you would protect her and her child. Lord you know who I intercede for and I just ask that you would bring breakthrough in the lives of the people I have on my heart and for anyone that reads this. Thank you Lord for everything you do. Amen
